Cor/Ope Freedom

It was early evening and Corrie sat in a rocking chair on her front porch rocking the nearly one year old Aisling in her arms. It was the day her father was finally due to return home. She had been sitting on the porch nearly an hour, at first letting little Aisling play, then finally cuddling with her. Corrie rubbed the angry red scar just to the right of her heart, she was still sick. Her heart, they told her, would likely never be the same. The stress from Ope being on the inside had taken it's toll on her. She was too skinny,her hair had lost some of it's curl, and it had been 3 months since she'd seen or talked to Opie. Her trust issues were again rearing their ugly head. She hadn't been honest with opie about her medical issues. He knew she was still sick, but not the extent.

As the roar of the dyna pulled p in front of her house, she smiled.

Opie was so glad to finally be home with his girlfriend and daughter. It was not easy for him being on the inside. Once he parked his bike, he grabbed the fresh bunch of pink roses from his saddle bag along with the little teddy bear he bought on the ride home. He crept up the walk till he reached the front porch steps. Smiling, he went over to Corrie, softly kissing her cheek as he handed her the roses, "Hey babe..."

Corrie took the flowers and smiled, her face still tingling from his familiar touch. She offered the sleeping Aisling to him, "Want ta put her ta bed, Da?"
Even lifting her such a small amount was hard for her between her heart and being in the coma she'd lost much of her strength. If it hadn't been for Opie coming home today, she would probably have already been in bed.

Looking at Ope, she shivered slightly, remembering Clay's funeral. She'd gone only to be sure the bastard was dead.

Opie looked at her with some concern before taking Aisling. He kissed her gently, "Why don't you go inside and rest? I'll be in our room in a moment." He straightened up, carrying the little girl inside and putting her in her crib with her new teddy bear. He kissed her goodnight and then went into their room and started stripping off his leather.

Corrie nodded and went upstairs. Though it was warm outside, she laid under their heavy blanket. Another side effect of the heart issues. She watch with fascination as Opie stripped off his leather. She'd forgotten what a large man he was. It had always made her feel safe with hi, even when he was restraining her. The one man in the world she trusted with her life, She yawned in the bed.

"Ya are gone a year and ya take more time carefully putting up your leather than ya do with me," she joked, pulling the covers around her neck.

He chuckled and went over to her, kissing her neck, "You have my undivided attention now. How are you feeling?" He stroked her hair out of his face and looked at her expectantly.

She looked away from him, "It's bad, Ope. They told me my heart is pretty damaged from having aisling. It's getting better, but will probably never be the same," her hand rubbed her chest where the scar was, "and I can't seem to recover all the way form what Clay did. I'm so tired anymore. I feel like a ghost."

Opie looked at her stunned, his fingers reaching out to lightly trace the scar, "H-How serious? Why didn't you tell me?"

She smiled up at him, "Don't worry love, I'll live. I didn' wan ya to worry. As long as my heart keeps recovering, I should be ok. It's just taking a toll."

She closed her eyes as he touch the scar

He leaned in and silently kissed along the scar; his hands gently cinching her waist.

Her heart started to beat hard, it had been so long since he had tmtouched her like this it was maing her panic. She started to pant. Still, she had missed him so much.

"Ope, wait," she said, breathless.

Opie stopped immediately, "What's wrong? Did I do something? Are you okay?"

"Sorry, it's been so long. It made me panic," she sighed, "my heart was goin mental."

She looked up through her lashes, "You may have to remind me that I'm yours."

Opie shook his head, "Not till we talk to your doctor. I want to cover all the bases." He leaned in and kissed her tenderly, "I love you."

Corrie sighed, rose from the bed, and made her way downstairs to drink wild irish rose by the fire. If she was going to feel alone she was going to do it thuroughly.

Opie sighed, coming down a few minutes, "Corrie, come on...don't be like this."

She glared at him.
"Ya know, ya made sure I was completely alone before you went in. Chased off my sister who was scooped up by Lyla. All i had was chibs. I was scared and sick and utterly alone. Now you're here and I'm still alone." She drank from the bottle.

Opie took the bottle from her, "You can't tell not to take some precaution...and what's this shit about Lyla?"

She seethed, " oh perfect little Lyla planned Dita's baby shower and then didn't invite me. She was there when Collette was born, not me. She moved in with Deet and they did all kinds of baby stuff, without me. When chibs told her to tell Deet I was in the hospital, she didn't. She stole my sister and you gave her the opening to do it. I never knew what alone felt like, even when I was alone, until you taught me how to love. God I'm tired, ope. I'm just so tired."

She tried to snatch the bottle back.

Opie threw the bottle in the fire causing the flames to shoot up. "I will handle this shit with Lyla, but seriously. Cut me some slack, Corrine. I'm trying. I fuck up. I love you and I'll roll with punches, but Jesus....give me a break."

She stood on the couch so she could be eye level with opie and got right in his face. Her eyes coild have cut him.
"If you love me so much, boy-o," she hissed, "PROVE IT!"

Without thought or warning, Opie pulled her to him roughly, kissing her full on the lips. Hard.

Being that she was just on the otherside if the line of drunk, her mind hadn't flipped out right away. Her hands snaked into his hair as she returned the kiss. She wrapped her legs around his waist and somewhere between that point and her hands trying to remive his shirt her mind went total apeshit. She felt her face turn red before anything else. Shortly after her chest began to burn and her whole body trembled.as the panic gained momentum, she headbutted him. When that failed she struggled against him, absently rubbing her chest and crying. She so desperately wanted, in that moment, to be normal. She didn't even realize she was hyperventalating.

Naturally, all her fucked up instincts blamed Opie for being in jail.

She crumpled against him, still shaking, broken and feeling completely empty.

Opie sighed, holding her close and stroking her hair, "Fuck...I'm sorry Cor..."

"I guess I get why everyone prefers Lyla to me. You can't even be close to me. No one wants to be around the psychotic girl," she sobbed.
She shoved Opie away and grabbed a blanket. As she passed the spot she knew Opoe iked to hide his Patron, she grabbed it, took a deep drink, and went outside to sit in her rocking chair. Covered with her blanket she rocked and drank.
