Opie's tired face spoke volumes, "Long...nothing but nightmares. Yours?"

His shoulders relaxed and slumped, "Oh thank god, I was starting to feel like a freak. Nightmares, I slept like shit. I was starting to think I was losing it."

He looked at Opie and realized the man was wearing the same clothes as yesterday, "Where'd you sleep?"

Juice thought about Dita and decided not to tell her anything Opie said about Cor. He didn't want to upset her.

Opie sighed, "I stayed with Cor last night BUT I slept on the sofa. Don't freak out."

He sighed, he didn't want Opie to be weird about talking to him about it.

"Dude, it's cool. I'm sorry I jumped down your throat. I get it. Dita was love at first sight for me. It was fucking confusing. You have to understand, we saw what a mess Cor was after she transferred here. Hell, she only recently stopped carrying her gun off duty."

Opie sighed, "I don't do this...I don't fall in love with someone I just met. I'm logical."

Juice laughed for the first time in two days, "And what about me screams illogical to you, bro? What's the problem? Fucking go with it."

He slapped Opie on the shoulder.

Opie smirked, "Guess you're right. You ain't divorced yet." Opie pulled on his boots before looking at Juice. Ready?"

As I'll ever be," he replied.

The day was long and draining. By the time he made it home and fought through the press he was exhausted. He sat his keys in the bowl and made a beeline for Dita smothering her in a hug.

Dita needed that hug more than ever. She buried her face into his leather coat, relishing its scent. Today had been horrible: the press fought her on the way to school, at school and now at home. Her phone at work and her cell rang non-stop. Her nerves were shot at that point but then it got worse.

Tears slid down her cheeks as she pulled away from Juice, "Roosevelt called me into his office today...the board has put me on academic suspension. Too many parents called in saying my new claim to fame was disrupting their children's education."

He held his wife, he knew how much teaching meant to her, "Baby, I'm sorry. I never wanted any of this to effect you."

The press had lost it's damn mind.

Dita wiped her tears away, "I'm scared, J...what if they don't renew my contract? I mean...we've been trying for a baby that god only knows we can afford and a house is now out of the picture..."

He smiled at her gently, "Dee, I make more than enough, the house isn't out of the picture. We'll be fine. "

Dita wiped at her tears, feeling exhausted, "W-what about a baby though..."

He smiled and kissed her forehead, "Baby, we're fine. We have a good nest egg and I have always made enough for both of us. Honey, I got this."

"No, I want you to stay here. Have you heard from Cor? She went back down to Ground Zero to look for her partner. Ope went with her, I haven't heard from him either."

He pulled his phone out to check for messages.

Dita grabbed the phone out of his hands, stunned, "She did WHAT?"

She tossed his phone onto their couch and grabbed the keys to their SUV and her bag, "Why didn't you stop her?"

He looked at her utterly confused, "Dee she's a cop and her partner is buried in the building. How COULD I stop her?"

Dita pushed by him, "At the end of the day, she is my sister. MY SISTER, Carlos. You saw how she reacted last night. Why didn't you call me?" She shook her head, "I got to find her." Before Juice could answer, Dita was gone.

Dita banged on her sister's door. "Corrine!"

Opie came to the door half naked and in shock, "Uh...um...."

Dita pushed him out of the way and marched back to Corrine's room, also finding her half naked. Before she could begin to fathom what she was doing, she GENTLY slapped her sister.

Corrie was shocked by the slap to her face, her hand flew up to her cheek and she stared at her sister in disbelief.

"What the fucking hell Dee?"

She pulled on Opie's t-shirt to cover her bra and stormed out of her bedroom to stand by him.

Dita went after her, "Have you lost it?! Don't you think you need time to heal before moving on? Jesus, Corrine!"

anger flashed in Corrie's eyes, "God damn it, do you think I wanted to fucking meet a guy, have a building fall on me, nearly die, then fall for the guy who pulled me out? I don't know how to deal with how I feel, but the fact reamins that I LOVE him, Dee. I LOVE him!"

She grasped Opie's hand.

Dita shook her head, "I can't...I can't do this with you again, Cor." Dita sighed, shaking her head as she left the apartment.

Juice paced waiting for his wife to come home. He should habe kept his damn mouth shut.

Dita came in an hour later: angry, distraught and an overall sobbing mess. She hoped that Juice would not be cross with her. She was just trying to keep her sister safe.
