Home alone Corrie/op

Corrie and dita had waited for Opie. Waited and waited. He never came back. Corrie was destroyed by it. Dita had dropped her off at home, per Corrie's request. Dita hadn't felt good about leaving her, but she did. She was upstairs in her bed just lying under the covers, terrified to sleep. She'd had three hours of sleep since that night. She was desperate. the house creaked and groaned.

The house only creaked and groaned because Opie had entered it. It had been three days of drunken sleep in the dorms. He finally decided to come home; he couldn't bear staying away from Corrie and the baby that long.

He crept up into their bedroom, gently caressing her back with his fingertips, "Corrine?"

Her muscles tensed and she turned to face him, "Don't ever do that to me again. I'm a mess without you."

Opie shook his head, "You told me to leave...you and Dita both."

She sighed, "I only wanted you to leave the room. I haven't had a nightmare in years. I was ashamed."

Opie shook his head, "No...relationships don't work like that. There is no shame in a relationship, Corrie. We both have flaws."

Tears pricked her eyes and she cursed as she wiped at them.

"You don't understand. No one but Dita has ever seen me like that. Ever. She's the only one who has ever calmed me down. I love you, but telling you how I was whipped with razor wire, it scares me."

Opie took her hand in his, no longer caring about boundaries, "You need to let me in....this will never work unless you do."

Thanks to the sedatives, she had no boundaries and the touch of his hands steadied her nerves.

"What do you want to know," she sighed.

Opie shook his head, "Anything you want to tell me....I need you to open up to me and just trust me, for fuck's sake."

She grabbed his hands and pulled herself closer to him.

"In the nightmare I was back in that room. I was in a chair with my arms tied around my back and my legs tied to the chair legs. I'd been there nearly two weeks by that point. I was dehydrated and starving and all I could see was my mum and da's corpses across the room. My mum's face was in terror and she was reaching out to me still. The man asked me where the guns were and I told him I didn't know. He pulled out razor wire and whipped my thighs with it. The wounds there were already festering. When I woke up, I thought you were him I haven't slept except for three hours since then. When I first moved in with Dita I would go days and days with no sleep because of the nightmare."


Tears were silently falling from her eyes,

Opie sighed, looking down at the hand he was holding, "Jesus....Cor....I'm sorry I pushed...you have to be honest with me."

"I don't know how much more honest I can be Op! For fuck's sake. I am a fucked up mess, you said it your self. Yea, I'm sure ya hoped I didn' hear tha, but I did. I did. I can't sleep because I keep having the nightmare because the sedatives make me dropped my barriers. It makes me want to stop taking them."

She rolled away from him.

"You are going to take those meds, because I said so."

"No. I need to sleep."

"You have to sleep, Corrine. You'll get sick if you don't."

She got out of the bed, slowly, and turned to him, arms crossed.

"You fucking try sleeping when you know your dead fucking mother is waiting there for you, milky eyes staring into you. Hands reaching out for you while you bleed for the cause she died for. Could you sleep if all you ever dreamed was Donna, bloody gunshot holes ta the head, screaming at you that it was your fault?" She crossed a line and she knew it, but he didn't god damn get it.

She was being crushed under the weight of her dreams.

Opie stayed silent for a few minutes before whipping his arm around, connecting with a crystal vase that came crashing to the floor. Without a word, he stormed out of the room. She crossed a fine line

Corrie chased after him even though she knew damn well she wasn't supposed to be running anywhere.

"Oh so, Donna is off limits but my dead parents are fair game. That's such a load off bullshite!" She caught up with him and shoved him with all of her strength, "You think I'm off me fooking rocker now," the angrier she got the thicker her accent became,"give me a week or two of this shite under me belt. I'll be a right mentaller. Sweet baby Jaysus, Ope."

She walked up to him again, her lip snarled up on one side.

"Ya tink tings are so fooking black and white. They aren't," she pressed herselff upagainst him, pulling up to her full height, "If ya are wantin a normal mot ya be barkin up the wrong fookin tree."

She stood there, glaring at him. Seething with anger, betrayal, and hurt.

Opie glared at her with a mix of hurt and bitterness, "At least you aren't to blame for their death. Donna's blood is forever on my hands."

She paced in front of him, her norm for frustration.

"I was fookin FOURTEEN, Opie. You don't tink I feel responsible? If I'd done this, if I'd done tha'. If I hadn't let Mum ban Uncle Filip. The scenarios that run trew my head are endless. I get how you feel, I understand the pain ya carry," she smacked the skin above his heart, "here. I just wish you'd try more to understand mine."

Opie looked down at her hand. Without words, he reached up and held it in place with his. What could he say at that moment? His heart was like hers: in shambles.

She tested the waters of her new sedation-given boundraryless life by reaching up on her tip toes, placing her free hand on his cheek, guiding his face down, and placing a sweet kiss on his lips.

"I love you, you stupid boy."

Opie kissed her back, his lips firm against hers as he slowly pulled her to him so her body was flush against his, "I love you too, you stubborn girl."

Corrie didn't know if he would allow it, after all she'd just gotten out of the hospital, but she knew this was likely her only chance to try. Hands finding his hair, she passionately pulled him to her to deepen the kiss. She knew sh eplanned to stop taking the damn pills the next day. She felt like this was her last chance to let normal Corrie out to play.
