Her brows furrowed, "Why did he punch you?"

She grabbed one of his large hands and placed it on her belly, enjoying the contact as long as she could stand it.

Opie rubbed the spot gently, thinking, "You will get mad."

She looked at the bashful giant, "Weren't ya just tellin me how honesty is the way this works?"

Opie kinda smiled, clearing his throat, " He asked what made me different...what we were about....he kept pushing. I told him it was about control."

For a full minute the air in her lungs seemed to freeze in place.

"Holy fucking Jaysus, You told him? You're lucky all he did was punch you. We're Irish, boy-o, there are two things you can count on us for: drinking and repression of alternative lifestyles under the Catholic system."

She smiled up at him, proud of his bravery and honesty.

"I'm not mad. There is no way I could ever be mad that you were honest about what ya've done for me," she looked at him through her lashes, "Without you, " she placed her hand on his above their daughter, "I would never have Aisling."

Opie smiled, "Aisling? What is the meaning behind that name?"

"It means dream in gaelic. It was also my mother's name," she looked away.

Opie brushed her hair out of her face, "It's beautiful."

"I thought 'twas fittin," she blushed, "this is all more than I dreamed I'd ever have."

Opie kissed the corner of her lips, "I love you...I want to give you so much more."

She felt the familiar panic on the periphery and had to move away from him. She looked at him sadly, "I wish I had more ta offer."

Opie shook his head "You both are more than enough. You are my second chance."

"Oh, Opie," she sobbed and ran back to him, throwing her arms around his neck, "Tá grá agam ort," she whispered to him in gaelic, "My anamchara."


Shaking from touching him, she kissed his cheeks, his eyes, and finally his lips.

Opie kissed her back and held her close, "...what was all that you said just now."

She blushed, "The first part, "Tá grá agam ort," means I love you. The second part I'm not sure you want to know."

She became very preoccupied with her hands.

Opie took his hands in hers, "I want to know everything that crossed your mind...because I love you too."

Again she blushed fiercely and then hid her face in her hands not used to these levels of emotion, " Anamchara translates to soulmate."

She hid deeper in her hands.

Opie pulled hands down away from her face, smilng softly. "Don't hide...anamchara."

In shock, she looked at Opie, her jaw slack. She had no idea what to say or do. She'd been pretty certain he considered Donna his soulmate. The amount of love that welled up in her when he spoke that word was frightening to her. She backed away from him, not knowing what to do and feeling very anxious.

Opie squeezed her hand, "Come on, Cor...talk to me."

"You just shouldn't get used to all of this," she waved her hand around, "I won't be like this in about 24 hours."

She fought the urge to cry.

Opie sighed, "Then let me enjoy this moment while it lasts." With that, he leaned in and kissed her lips tenderly.

Tears slid down her cheek as she lovingly held his face to hers. She was so tired. She began to nod of in his embrace, but was trying not to allow herself to. She wanted to be there for Opie while she could be.
"Buille mo chroí ," she whispered tenderly against his lips, "Laoi m'anama."

Opie slipped his arms under her thighs, lifting her up so her legs could wrap around his waist. He carried her back to the bed, sitting her down on the bed so he could hover over her. He dropped kisses down her neck, her collarbone and the valley between her breasts.

She sighed, trying desperately to ignore the ever growing anxiety. She wanted this. She knew damn well it may be the only time she could be an active participant and actually make love to Opie, not just screw his brains out.

She ghosted her hands up his back andtilted her head to one side to let him have access to her collar bone while she sweetly crooned to him in gaelic.
