Opie frowned, "Thirsty again?"

She tried to back away from him, but he wouldn't let her go. Shamefully, she nodded.

"There's something wrong with me feeding from you, isn't there? I could feel it from Chibs."

Opie sighed, "It's...well, Chibs says it shouldn't be done...I don't know all the details."

She felt like a shamed child or a reject.

She didn't feed on Opie the whole way home. Trying desperately to show Chibs she could survive on people but it always ended the same, his suspicious look and her vomiting up all the blood. Two days after they arrived home she was so thirsty it was hard to think.

Chibs had summoned Opie to the club. He didn't like this whole thing with Corrie. He loved the girl, but vampires could not survive off other vampires. He had never seen or heard of such a thing before. Vampires fed off blood because it contained the lifeforce they needed. To feed off another vampire was to exists without life. Yet, she was so powerful it terrified him. He was afraid opie was going to have to end her.

When opie cam in and sat down, Chibs didn't pull any punches, "I want you to stake Corrie."

Opie couldn't believe what he was hearing, "What? No!"

Chibs felt for the boy, "I know you have to feel the perversion that she is. What will happen if we allow her to continue?"

He put his hand on his arm, "I know you've been through a lot Ope, but you ahve to stake her."

Opie shook his head, "I love her...I've always loved her...you know that. I won't kill her."

"Then I will. If she becomes a threat, I'll have no choice boy-o. Enjoy her while you can."

Chibs left the room, ridden with guilt, resolved to find out what in the hell Corrie was to avoid breaking his son.



Corrie stood in the woods on their property, eyes closed, testing the limits of her new powers. She made the wind rise and fall around her. Using her mind she chucked huge boulders. She levitated about 5 inches off the ground. Her hair whirled and danced in the air as she laughed at the freedom she now possessed.

Opie went looking for Corrie, knowing there time was numbered. He had to get hetr back to the house and devise a plan before it was too late.

She could feel Opie and showed him where she was. Sje could feel the worry and anger on him, but she wasn't worried. She let her thirst flow to him across the bond

Opie reached her in seconds. "We have to fix this Cor...Chibs will kill you if we don't."

She made a face, "He won't kill me. I'm not sure if he can. And what do you mean fix. how do you fix this?"

She was beyond confused.

Opie ran his hand through his hair, "I don't know...leave? Train you not to want to drink from me? I don't know."

"If I don't feed from you, I'll starve," she looked frantic.

She grabbed him and forced his head to the side, biting him and drinking so much he crumpled to the ground. She grabbed his face and kissed him, leaving his own blood on his face.

"We'll be fine," she closed her eyes.

She willed herself into the air and flung trees, rocks, and made the wind howl. She could protect them both. She would protect them both.

"I'll protect you."

Opie shook his head, "He will kill you...he will..."

She couldn't stand the hurt on his face, "Then lets go. Lets go to Ireland, see if we can find proof I'm not going to harm anything."

It felt strange to have to justify her existence.

Opie was about to say something when he felt Juice nearby. "Dee is coming."

When they finally arrived in Ireland, Corrie felt crushed. The whole plane ride Opie had been silent. Every time she tried to touch him he had pulled away. The thought that he could hate her made her feel even colder. By the time they settled down into a hotel she was feeling broken.

"Do you think I'm a perversion now too?"

Opie kept looking out the window, "I never said that, Corrie."

She couldn't take the coldness. Slowly, she crawled up into his lap like a lonely, lost child.

"Then what did I do? All I want is you, Ope, why is that the wrong choice?" she looked lost.

She nuzzled him, his scent filling her senses, making her thirsty. In an effort to prove herself, she jumped off of him.

"Ope, you have to get out of here for a while. I won't be able to keep from feeding on you if you don't," she spoke through gritted teeth.

Opie nodded, "Fine. Let's go for a walk."

Taking a deep breath, Corrie nodded.

They walked through the streets of Belfast in the dead of night. When they came across a lone, drunk, man Corrie let go of Opie and attacked him. She needed to try to feed on humans, she was starving. She grabbed him and bit him and bit him, moaning as the hot fluid flooded her mouth. She saw Opie watching her, his face intense. She drained the man in minutes.

Almost immediately the world started to spin and her stomach clenched. She ran into a dark alley and sobbed as her body rejected the blood again. When she returned to Opie, she had no choice, she had to feed. Taking him off guard, she took him into the same alley and slammed him against the wall. She crushed her lips to his. Her hands snaked under his leather and into his shirt to touch his bare chest. She trailed the kisses until she reached her favorite spot on his neck, then, inhaling deeply, she bit him. The blood was cool as she drink, one of the biggest differences between Opie and the humans. Knowing she had to, she broke the embrace and stared at him.

"I'm sorry, " she looked down, "You want me to be human, don't you?"

Opie sighed, "I miss you, Cor...before the bloodlust."

She looked into his eyes, "Take me home. If that's what you want, I'll do it."
