Opie pulled the strap of her cami down to reveal her shoulder: red and irritated. He frowned, "What if Donna...what if she put silver inside this wound? What would be the best way to get it out?"

Chibs looked at Opie, he was much younger than himself. He knew, by the way she looked, if they didn't get this out right now, RIGHT now, she would die either way. Without so much as a warning, the old Scot ripped the flesh on that part of her shoulder.

Corrie's hald dead eyes snapped opened and she screamed at the top of her lungs in pain.

Chibs looked at Opie, "Now get in there and find it."

Opie carefully dug through until he felt something hard, circular, and metallic. He pulled it out and in disgust immediately identified it: It was his silver wedding band.

Chibs grimaced, "She poisoned her with your weddin ring? Wha' kind of monster was she?"

He looked at Corrie's wound, it was barely healing. The only way they would know if they'd gotten it out on time would be to wait.

"Her wound is barely healing, but it is healing some," he frowned, "I'm afraid tha' the only way ta know i we got it in time is to wait and see."

In am effort to help the newborn, Chibs bit his wrist and let the blood drip into her mouth. She didn't stir. Again the scot frowned.

"Call me if you need me," he clapped Opie's back and left.

Corrie whimpered.

Opie held her close, tears streaming down his face, "Oh sweetheart....I am so sorry."

It was like she was trapped in her own mind, reliving the moment she'd jammed the ring in her shoulder over and over. Though Corrie hadn't known then that was what the bitch had done. She could hear Opie crying, but it was the smell of the blood in his tears that pushed through the fog of her poisoned mind. She was hungry. She needed the blood to heal. Her brain switched into automatic as she sat straight up, grabbed his arm, and bit down into his shoulder. Sh'ed forgotten how amazing his cool blood tasted. She gulped it in. She stopped before it put him in any danger, lay back and looked up at him.

".....Opie....." she whispered.

Opie kissed her lips, "It's going to be okay now. Just rest. I'll be right here."

She slept for days. Often, she could hear Opie talking to her, telling her to come back to him, she wanted to, but she couldn't find her way. at least once, she cried in her sleep. Chibs and Juice both told Opie to go feed,but he refused so they brought him blood. Twice they force fed her. Finally, she woke to complete darkness and Opie's sleeping form holding her. Overcome with regret and love and despite the soreness still in her poisoned body, she pulled his sleeping face to her and kissed his lips.

Opie moaned against her lips, holding her close to him. He opened his eyes, surprised, "Oh thank god! You're awake..."

His voice hurt her head and she squeezed her eyes shut.

"I'm still sore," she caressed his face,"Baby, youneed to feed."

Opie sighed, "No...I'm fine...are you feeling okay? Can I get you anything? God, Cor, I was so worried."

Her brow furrowed, had it really been that bad? He looked more ashen than usual and his eyes were less green.

"Opie, please. I'll be fine, go feed. It can't have been that bad."

Opie looked at her in shock, "You were out cold for a week in and half. It was that serious to me."

Her eyes widened in shock, "A week and a half?"

She looked at his face and saw it written there, she almost died. She was immortal, but Donna had almost killed her.

"H-h-ow?"

Opie looked down, "That....bitch...she embedded silver into your shoulder. You had silver poisoning..."

The memory smacked her in the face. Donna was shoving the ring in her shoulder, cackling. "You know, he asked me to use this specifically," she crooned as she jammed the ring inside her.

"She told me you requested that she use your wedding ring," she flinched away from Opie, tears falling despite knowing it wasn't true.

Opie shook his head, "No! I didn't EVER ask her to do ANYTHING to you, Corrine! I love you! I couldn't live with myself if something were to happen to you." Bloody tears rolling down his cheeks.

She cradled his face and fought the sudden urge to lick his bloody tears.

"I know, baby, I know. I'm sorry."

Guilt over what happened tore at her.

He pulled her close to him, "I'm sorry...I should have protected you better."

She sobbed, she couldn't take how guilty he felt. Her empath powers were so much stronger when she fed on him.

"It wasn't your fault," she leaned against him yawning.

Opie kissed her neck, "Don't cry, love...it's okay...it's all okay now. I'm just so happy you are awake. Everyone was so worried about you."

She looked deeply into his eyes and felt his relief and love. Would she ever be able to control the strength of her powers? She didn't want Opie to live in the clubhouse anymore, but she had no idea why he was living there and not in his home. Making a rash decision, she blurted out, "I wantyoutomoveinhere."

Opie looked at her, kind of amused for the first time since her disappearance. "What? I may be a vampire and my skills might have been slightly improved, but my hearing is still not that good."

Petulantly, she blew out a breath that twirled her hair. She knew damn good and well he'd heard her.

"I.....want....you.....to.....move....in....here......with...me....That better, old man?"

Opie smiled, stroking her hair, "Really? What about Dee Dee and Juice?"
