She smiled, "I don't think I could be much happier."

Opie kissed her neck, "I am too, baby. This is only the beginning for us."

In the moment, nearly drunk on joy, she looked up at her husband and smiled, "Dee offered to be a surrogate for us. I want to do it."

Even though she knew how he had felt about his children before his death, she had hoped, or maybe willfully ignored, that it had changed by now.

Opie paused, looking at her in shock, "W-what? You aren't seriously considering it are you?"

Her brow furrowed, "I was. I am."

His reaction shocked her. Her heart felt torn in half.

"Cor...I had kids and I lost them. Not ready to go through that again."

Despite being in the middle of their dance she let go of him, "So, because of what happened to you before you would deny me the experience now?"

She turned and marched out of the ballroom, leaving all the onlookers shocked.

Dita saw what happened and she wanted answers. She ran after her sister, concerned, "What did he say?"

"He won't even try. Because of what happened with his kids he won't even let me try, she paced the floor and ripped off her veil, "It's not fair. He robbed me of the chance to do it on my own. I know it wasn't his fault, but damn it!"

Dita frowned, shaking her head, "Maybe Juice can talk to him...reason with him...he can't make this decision for the both of you."

She growled, really fuming from his lack of understanding, "I just need a minute. Just keep everyone entertained."

Despite having on her white, heavy, dress she left the house, leaving her shoes on the porch, and took off through the woods. She needed to run, to not think about the pain he'd just caused her.

Opie frowned as he watched Dita go up to Juice and pleadingly ask him to talk to her brother-in-law. Dee would even shoot him a glare, not letting him in her head as she did so. It was evident she was pissed at him.

Juice walked over to Opie and took him out onto the balcony. He understood why he felt the way he did, but he also didn't want Dee pissed at him for not trying. Sighing, he turned to his friend.

"Look, I get why you don't want to do this, I do, but you just completely destroyed your wife. I can feel her, though I'm sure you can't right now. She is in pain out there."

Opie shook his head, "J, it isn't that I don't want to have children...to give her that...but it's different with us. That child will still be half human...what if she or even I drain it? Kill it in our bloodlust? Then what?"

Juice put his hands on Opie's shoulders, "Ope, you would never do that, ever. You need to go talk to her."

Opie sighed, hesitant still. He nodded and went hunting down his wife.

She could feel him getting closer to her. Stopping, she took a seat on a fallen tree.

Opie was relieved to find her. He went over to her, pressing his hand to her shoulder, "I'm sorry...it just...scares me, Corrine. It's a risk."

She shook her head vehemently, "I would never hurt my own child, never."

Opie sighed sitting next to her, "I have a right for concern...it's not all you I'm worried for. What if I can't control myself?"

"When you hold Charlotte do you want to eat her or protect her?"

Opie looked at her, baffled, "I...I want to protect her...I don't want anything to happen to her..."

"And what makes you think if we had our own baby you wouldn't want tod od the same," she kissed his lips and placed her hand over his heart, "Opie, you already are a dad, you wouldn't hurt our baby."

She put her forehead on her hand, "Please, I want this so badly."

Opie looked at his hand and then back up into her pleading eyes. How could he say no to her? He rested his forehead against hers, nodding softly. "Okay."

"Come on, lets go back to our party."


Immediately, she found Dee and hugged her close, "He said yes!"

She did't care the baby would be half her husband and half her sister. It would still be hers. If she was lucky, it might even look like her.
