Everlasting D/J AU

Juice watched the two girls interact. Corrie looked almost grey, it made his senses go on alert; he wouldn't let her bite Dee, though he knew Dee wouldn't stop her. A starving vamp is a dangerous thing. He kissed Dee on the head and rested his hand on her shoulder. when he felt Opie down in the kitchen he felt raw nerves, it worried the hell out of him.

"I'll be right back," he told Dee.

He made his way to the kitchen finding Ope at the table. He looked used up.

"What's wrong?"

Opie looked down at the floor, "Donna made Cor think I wanted her dead; that I sent Donna to kill Corrie."

He sat beside Opie, thinking of how devastated he would be if someone planted something like that in Dee's head. Just the very thought made him feel completely hollow. He put a hand on Opie's shoulder.

"Surely there has to be a way to prove it wasn't real. Show her your memories or something. You were with us basically the whole time, we never saw donna."

Opie looked down, "She won't believe me...but she'll believe Dee Dee."

"Come on, then, lets fix this."

Dita sat on the edge of the bed, concern written on her face. She held her sister's hand.

Juice walked up to Dee while Opie waited outside. He didn't want to spook Corrie. Taking Dita's hand he allowed her to see their conversation in the kitchen. He knew Opie and he knew if this didn't get fixed somehow it would absolutely consume him. He begged for Dita's help.

Dee silently agreed, her heart breaking for them both. She gently took her sister's hand in hers and went through images of Opie in Charming with just them; consumed with worry and heartbreak.

Juice watched Corrie's eyes widen as she understood what they were showing her. She shook her head.

"It was so real. So real," she stared at her sister.

Dita kissed her hand, "It is real, Corrie. I love you and haven't I always told you the truth?"

She shook her head, a hatred so deep she'd never felt anything like it before rising in her throat. How could she just forget what she was shown. A small sob escaped her.

She looked at Juice, "Tell him I need some time."

Juice nodded and left the room.

"She says she needs time, Ope."

Opie nodded, crestfallen, "I'll wait then."

Juice patted him on the arm and made his way back into the room with the sisters. Watching them together always fascinated him. He had sisters, but none of them were so close that they could have whole conversations with just their minds. Standing behind dita, he put a hand on her shoulder for support. He knew it was hard for her to see her older sister this way.


Corrie stared straight ahead. Parts of her still ached, though Opie assured her that would go away the more she fed. Now that she'd seen her sister's memories, she felt bad for shunning him, but the things Donna had planted in her mind were string and very real to her. She rubbed her arms with her hands and leaned back against her pillows.

"You guys don't have to stay in here with me."

Dita stroked her hair, "Shut it. You don't worry about us. Try to relax."

Her eyes looked harrowed, "Everything was fine there until she showed up. They jumped me on her word alone. I thought Donna was supposed to be kind, what the hell happened to her?"

Dita shrugged sadly, "I don't know..."

She clutched her sister's hand desperately, :Have I changed that much? Am I a monster?"

Red tears welled up in her eyes.

Dita wiped her sister's tears away, "No...you are still my big sister...you mean the world to me."

Grabbing one of Dita's hands, Corrie lay down and went to sleep.

Juice sat on the bed and put a hand on one of her knees.

"You ok?" he asked Dee.

Dee sighed heavily, nodding, "I am...just...I hate seeing her like this."

He wanted to tell her to come to the kitchen with him so he could make her a sandwich. To tell her that Corrie would be fine by herself, but he knew, if it was his sister, he'd want to sit there as long as it took. Corrie looked rough.
He leaned down and kissed the top of Dee's head. And overwhelming love flowed through him.

Dita leaned back against him, still holding her sister's small hand in hers. She closed her eyes as she relaxed under his touch.

Vampires could hold very still for very long periods of time, but the way Corrie was made Juice fidgety. You just didn't see vulnerable vamps. Finally, he leaned down and kissed Dee's.

"Come downstairs for a bit, you need to eat," he spoke.

Dee knew he was right. Sighing heavily she kissed her sister's forehead and followed him out.

Once they were in the kitchen he set about making her grilled cheese and tomato baail soup. He knew she loved it and so he knew she would eat it. As his hands skillfully chopped the basil, he let his mind wander. He liked to imagine Dee in a wedding dress, coming down the aisle towards him. He smiled goofily and threw the basil in the pot.
