Dita sensed the anger, kissing his lips again, "I'm fine." She rubbed his leg as she looked over the menu, "I don't know if I'm really that hungry, maybe I can get some tea and a cheese plate."

He smiled and put his hand on hers.

"If that's all your hungry for, go for it."

He thought about being home and starting the house search. Really getting their life together started would be amazing. He loved being here with her and the trip was amazing too, but he couldn't wait to start their life.

Dita ordered her cheese plate and tea, cuddling close to him as they waited. "I miss home."

"I do too, charming is like a land all it's own.. There's a reason none of us leave, you know? And besides, you'll love Liverpool."

He knew his feelings were affecting hers and sought to get his homesickness under control.

Dita picked at her cheese, "Babe...what if we just go to see Maura?"

He sighed heavily, "I thought you were excited about Liverpool. I don't want how I feel to keep you from that, but we can do whatever you want"

He smiled and caressed her cheek.

Dita smiled softly, "It isn't that...I just want to figure out what is going on with me and start our life together. Besides, Liverpool will always be here."

He made his call to Maura, who was actually very excited for them to come early. That night was uneventful, his mind preoccupied on what they would find out once they reached Scotland.

Dee crawled into bed a few minutes later after discarding her robe and turning some of the lights off. She looked at Juice, "Are you nervous about tomorrow?"

He couldn't lie to her, "Yes. Maura is old. she lacks the humanity we have."

The next day, they made their way to Scotland. the trip took most of the day, but niether of them were tired when they arrived.

Maura waited for them impatiently, her raven hair nearly touched the floor as she paced barefoot in her yard. When she spotted them she immediately knew what was going on as she had preformed the same deed with her own human daughter. Instead of telling the girl, she threw a knife straight into her chest and watched as she didn't even flinch.

Juice freaked out, panic gripping him.

"What the fuck, Maura?"

The old witch laughed, "Worry not, your bride is immortal."

Dita frowned, pulling the knife from her chest, "You damn near nicked my new dress...whoa...that didn't even hurt." She looked at Maura in surprise, "Well...what am I?"

"Deary, you don't get that dressed up to tramp around out here," the old crone chuckled,"You've been given a vampire's essence. I've done it before, with my own daughter. It takes a great deal of power and doesn't actually become active until someone kills you, but you are now immortal without the drawbacks of needing to eat people."

Maura cupped her cheek, "You won't age or get sick. You will never die, but you can still bear children as a human can. You are a hybrid."

Dee looked at Maura with awe; it was like the woman picked up her questions on children quickly. Her cheeks flushed some in shame; it was something she knew would never be possible with her husband and that thought secretly devastated her.

A smile unwrapped itself on Maura's face like she was bestowing a secret gift, "Oh it's possible, lass, but only because of the gift your mother gave you. I know, because tis why I gave it to my daughter as well," she went into her small house and came back out handing her an aged picture, "This is my oldest granddaughter. She is 175 years old."

Juice looked on in awe. They absolutely never practiced anything safe.
