everlasting AU

Corrie didn't know how long she'd been huddled in the dark, damp, dirty room, but she was hungry and exhausted. She didn't even know vampires could be cold, but there she was, shivering. Frustrated beyond the point that she could handle, she began to sob.

It didn't take long for Opie to find the house. He instantly got the sense of fear and agony in the house and went for the source. With all his force, he kicked the door of the safe room down.

Like a scared animal Corrie scurried away from the door and blinked against the sudden flood of light. She reached out with her extra sense and found warmth, love and seething, burning anger. Blindly she stood and threw her arms around the man she knew was there.

"Opie," she breathed.

Opie brought her robe with him and wrapped it around her, kissing her urgently. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

Still scared all she could do was shake her head. She cuddled up to him, fighting the urge to cling to him.

Opie kissed her once more, "Let's go home."

For weeks Corrie refused to feed or even leave the house. It was starting to affect her judgment, but Chibs had terrified her to her core. It was a warm day, all the windows of the house flung open to the breeze. She flitted from window to window like aghost in her own home, watching for Opie.

Opie had gone to get the last of his boxes from storage. He had started moving in that week, which made him more at ease since he'd be close to Corrie. His old truck roared into the drive and he began unloading.

She watched from a second story window as he unloaded his boxes, a smile on his face. She reached out with her mind and caressed his cheek, the shadow of a smile playing on her lips. He was everything to her now. If something happened to him it would kill her. The Scot had fucked with her mind in the worst way. She was terrified to leave the house, terrified to feed, on Opie or otherwise, and she felt like a freak. She was constantly thirsty. If she went to the clubhouse she'd probably end up eating someone. She reveled in the way Opie moved, his muscles moving under his shirt as he brought boxes up onto the porch. Silently, she made her way downstairs and stood just inside the threshold to watch him.

Opie smiled at her as he carried the boxes two at at time up the path, kissing her lips once he reached her. He frowned at her weak appearance, "You need to hunt."

Her muscles tensed, "I'm fine. I don't need to."
that morning she had actually started eating real food again. Chibs had told her, as he threw her in that room, that they could eat. She had missed the taste of food.
"I had some food this morning," she said proudly.

She leaned into him, inhaling his scent. All her muscles relaxed and she didn't want to let him go. Longongly, she looked into his eyes and thought I love you.

Opie kissed the tip of her nose, "I love you too. That's great that you ate. What did you have?"

She danced around him on her toes as he grabbed more boxes, much like an excited child.
"Oh, I had toast, sunnyside up eggs, and bacon, oh I missed bacon, then I made some hot chocolate," she looked at him expectantly, "Why don't you ever eat real food? I would have cooked for you when I was human. Baked you cookies or something."

The sun shone on her bare cheek and she gasped and backed up into the shadows. As long as they were well fed the sun didn't affect them much, but underfed and it was painful, though caused no real damage.

Opie chuckled, kissing her cheek, "Be careful, sprite. I don't know...guess I never thought about it."

She smiled. Not feeding had made her feel normal again. There was no insane power, just her normal ones, no nearly addictive want to feed on Opie. It was like she could be human again, she looked up at the treacherous sun, for the most part.

"Let me cook for you!" she clapped and stared up at him, "I could make us dinner," she frowned, but it would have to be after dark so I can go to the store."


She began planning the whole meal in her head. The speed of vampiric thought made planning anything simple, she'd already planned out several wedding scenarios while she was home alone that morning.

"Please, Opie," she batted her eyelashes, "Pllleeeaaassseeee."

Opie loved her childlike banter. He kissed her gently and nodded, "Okay, it's a deal. It obviously means a lot to you."

Early that evening, as she avoided what little bit of sunlight remained, she dressed in some normal clothes and headed to the store. She didn't want to scare the locals with her crazy costumes. This time of day the local grocery was blissfully empty. To keep from smelling the few humans in the store, she just stopped breathing in. Going from aisle to aisle, she gathered the things she needed to make steak, potatoes, and then a blueberry cheesecake for dessert. She was giddy when she went through the line and hopped back in her car.

She busied herself in the kitchen. She'd cook the steaks really rare, it wasn't like it would make them sick even if they ate it raw. Quickly, she preheated the oven and put the meat in, followed by the potatoes. While they cooked, she prepared the cheesecake. Everything in the kitchen smelled amazing.

When Opie walked in, Corrie was staring at the antique silver salt and pepper shakers like they had bit her, holding her finger under the cold tap. Another draw back of not feeding was not healing very quickly.

Opie went over to her, taking her hand and his and examining the finger. He frowned, "You need to hunt, love...that is a nasty little burn."

She yanked her hand away with more force than necessary.

"No," she spoke, voice shaking, "I'm FINE."

Opie shook his head, "You have to! Look at you, you are getting weaker and weaker."

Something inside her broke as she turned to him and growled.

"Fine, if that's what you want."

In an instant she was on him, her eyes flashing the purest kind of anger as she bit down into the flesh of his neck and fed. She pinned him to the floor with her mind, her ferral instincts loving the feel of him struggling beneath her.

Opie growled, "Stop...Corrine...stop..."

She yanked away from his neck, staring down at him, letting his blood drip from her chin. Still she held him securely to the floor. As his blood raced through her system, her whole attitude changed. He lips curled in a snarl and her eyes looked mean.

"This is what you wanted," she felt almost drunk.

Opie pushed her off, almost angrily, "You've lost your damn mind."

Throwing her head back,, she laughed.

"No shit? That's why I STOPPED feeding. Chibs is right. Throw me back in that room. Until you do it will always be you I end up feeding on. Dee fixed me, then you fed me again and now, it's all I think about. I CAN feed on people but all I WANT is you."

She felt like the room was spinning and she was coming apart at the seams.

"Fucking Christ, all I want is you, Opie."

Timidly, as though a switch in her flipped, she walked to him and laid a hand on his chest.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," she sobbed.
