Opie shook his head, confused, "I would...could never kill Jax...he is my friend..."

"Someone is doing something," she sighed and rubbed her forehead.

Opie shook his head, "I'm going to get some answers." He left the room and went downstairs, cornering Chibs, "Who called it?"

He shrugged, "I have no idea what yer talkin about."

Opie cut his eyes, "The hit on Jax. What the hell is going on Chibs?"

Chibs looked away, the enormity of what he was about to say crushing him. Gently he placed a hand on Opie's shoulder, he loved this man and would follow him to the end of the earth.

"Ope, Happy called me, Jax put out a hit on you."

Opie took a step back, in denial. "No...that isn't true...it's a lie."

Chibs frowned, "I'm sorry, lad, but it is. He hasn't been right lately. Drinkin' his troubles away. He thinks you stole his life."

Opie shook his head, grabbing a jacket. I need to talk to him. Make things right..."

Corrie had been standing in the hall and suddenly blocked his path.

"He wants to kill you! You'll do no such thing!"

Opie shook his head, "No...he wouldn't ever...he's my best friend..."

Determined, Corrie nodded at Chibs who grabbed Opie and held on to the giant man tight.

"I'll go," she grabbed her coat and made her way out the door before anyone could stop her.

When she got to Jax's she grabbed the spare key and made her way inside. He was right where she expected him to be, by the fire, drinking.

"Jax," she spoke softly, "You do know my father isn't going to kill my husband for you, right?"

Jax smirked, spinning the ice around in his tumbler that once held scotch. "Ah, should have figured Opie would send the help to talk some sense into me."

"Stop acting like you don't know me. I made Chibs hold him so I could come here," she walked ove to him and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. Something deep within her recoiled from the touch, he was still the reason she was attacked.
"Jax, what happened to you? Surely you don't really want to kill Opie."

Jax looked up at her with a sneer, "I don't like to give up my throne easily, I suppose."

Corrie's face changed as she unleashed the part of her that was like her father. Slowly she forced him to turn and look into her eyes.

"I promise you, Jackson Teller, if anything happens to my Opie I will kill you. It will be like you set my father upon you and it will be personal. I will do it slowly and I'll enjoy it," she glowered at him.

Jackson smirked, "Mm, I'm sure, Mrs. Winston. Give my best to your husband."
