AU Backdarft corrie

Opie smiled softly at her, handing her a rise he bought from a street vender. He decided to show off with his fluent French. "J'taime."

She blushed, "merci."
She looked at the city around her in wonder, she never got tired of walking through Paris with her husband. They made their way back home, content just to walk with each other. When they got inside all was quiet.
"I'm going to go check on the babies," she kissed his cheek.
When she entered the nursery and saw Piney laying on the floor she ran to him and checked his pulse, it was there but theady.
"HARRY!!!"

Opie was in the kitchen making tea when he heard his wife scream out. He ran to the nursery. When he saw his dad lying on the floor, he dropped to his knees beside him, "Dad?! Dad?!" He looked at his wife, "Call an ambulance."

Corrie paced the nursery, cell phone in her hand waiting for Opie to call, she felt terrible. The maids, all but one, had gone home for the night and she didn't feel right leaving the babies. Finally, she flopped down in a chair. It was then that she heard it.

"Get out of my way, those are my grandbabies and it is my husband's money that pays you. Move!"

Opie frowned, "Jesus....this is not the time! Dad, stay with me, okay?"

Corrie stood and confronted Mary as Opie and Piney left with the paramedics. She mouthed the words I love you to her husband as he looked over his shoulder.

"I got this, Ope,just go. Take care of Pop."

Opie smiled softly, "You too. I'll call you when I hear something."

She glared at Mary, "you are NOT welcome here."

Mary glared at the girl, "I am allowed to come and go as I please. My husband's money bought this place."

Corrir smirked,"I have it on good authority that your husband doesn't like you very much and I know my husband doesn't care for you so I am pretty sure it doesn't matter who bought what, you aren't doing what you please, she stood dangerously close.to Mary, " If you touch my babies, I will end you."

Mary shook her head, "You are crazy!"

"You have no idea, now get out of thos room, " she poked Mary, backing her out of the door.

She slammed the door in the bitch's face and locked the door. There was a small fridge and room temperature bottles of water to make bottles. She could hole up for a while.

She texted ope

Locked in the nursery to keep your "mom" away from our babies. How's Pop?

Opie was sitting in the waiting room still waiting for word from the doctors.

Nothing yet. I'm sorry that I left you with that bitch.

She smiled at her husband's text as his mother banged on the nursery door.

She is banging on tbe door. Is she always like this?

Opie sighed

She was worse when I was a kid, I'm afraid. Call the police.

She giggled
Baby, I am the police.

She marched.to the door and opened it.
"Bitch, if you wake my children I will haul you to the police myself."

Mary smirked, "Don't spew your idle threats to me, missy. I want to see my grandchildren."

As Mary tried to push passed her,Corrie smacked her.across.the face.
"I DON'T MAKED IDLE THREATS!"


She shut the door and locked it again. She texted Ope.

I hit your mom.

Opie's got big and he kind of chuckled.

The next morning Corrie woke to the babies cries. She fes each of them and checked her phone. At some point the battery had died. She sighed, grabbing a yogurt from the mini fridge. No way was she leaving the nursery with Mary out there.

Opie came home, relieved to see the old bitch gone. He saw the nursery door closed, "Babe?"

Corrie heard Opie and rushed to the door. Unlocking and opening it, she threw her arms around her husband and tears stung her eyes.

"How's Pop?"

Opie held her close, "He's on oxygen...but he's fine."
