AU Backdarft corrie

A few months later Corrie was one month away from leaving for Paris. They were both still on leave so Ope had decided to go for three months. She was nervous, she'd never been anywhere like that. She was a simple girl. As she clicked through clothes on line and decided which stores to hit up to buy clothes for her trip. Opie came in behind her.

Opie smiled at her, "Still shopping, love? You know, we could go out or you could go with Dee?"

The truth was, she hated shopping, but it would be nice to get out of the house. She resolved to call Dee later. She turned in her chair and looked up at her husband through her lashes. Things had been great, she was healthy, for the most part, they were happy. Lately, she'd been thinking about something, but was afraid to mention it to him.

"Ope," she stared at him, longing in her eyes, "I want to have a baby."

Opie kind of knew this day would come. The last time they saw her Dee and Juice, she was all about the twins and Trini. Loving on them and babying each one. Seeing her that way made him want to give her that, but he didn't know if they could.

He looked at her, a glimmer of hope in his eyes, "Do...do you think it's possible?"

They'd told her it was a long shot after all the chemo and radiation, but that with fertility treatments and some luck it was a possibility. She'd already started the treatments about two weeks before, she wanted to be prepared for when she told him, She took his hand.

"They told me I would need fertility treatments, which I started two weeks ago," she paused and smiled, "and they said it was a long shot, but it was possible."

Opie slowly smiled, "Really? " Opie went over and scooped her up into his arms, kissing her tenderly. "Let's make a baby...let's make as many as we can."

She smiled, "There is nothing I would like more."

She kissed him just as her cell phone went off.

"Dee's waiting for me downstairs to o shopping, I have to go," she kissed him again and left.

She scooted into the SUV's passenger seat and said hi to her sister, her cheeks still glowing from opie's happiness.

Dita smiled at her sister's bright glow, "Hey...you look awfully cheerful...you okay?"

Suddenly she was bashful, a blush rising in her cheeks replacing the glow.

"We're going to try to have a baby."

She couldn't stop the smile that spread over her face.

Dita smiled, "Really?! Oh wow...I didn't think...well, you know...that is wonderful!"

She sighed, "It's a long shot. I started fertility treatments two weeks ago. I'm nervous, but Opie's face.....he just lit up like a little boy."

She fiddled with her short hair.

Dita reached over, squeezing her hand, "You are going to do this, Cor...I can just feel it."

She smiled, "I'm going to do everything I can. He deserves it."

She looked out the window, "So are you planning on just picking everything out for me?"

Dita smirked, "Why, of course. I get to spend Ope's money and there is no limit. Best day ever."

She smiled, "He gave me the credit card. I am so excited, he has an apartment in Paris. I'm married to a freaking rich guy."

Dita laughed, "He is a sweet guy."

Her smile softened and she touched the heart charm with the word I love you in many different languages on it. he'd started obsessively buying her jewelry with the word love on it.

"The sweetest I've ever known."

The were in the store shopping away when she pulled out her phone to text opie that she loved him.

:How do you guys like the house?"

Dita smiled, looking through the racks, "We love it...it's gorgeous....it's a little creepy at night though...especially if Juice is working the nightshift."

Finally, something that caught her interest that wasn't about clothes.

"Why?"

Dita shrugged, kind of laughing, "It's an old house and I'm all nutso anyway. I keep hearing things...and it's just...I dunno. I feel weird sometimes."

They talked about the house in depth and Corrie told her sister to text her whenever she felt that way. Dita picked out so many beautiful clothes ofr corrie she didn't think she would get to wear them all.



One Month into the Paris stay.


In the first two weeks of being in Paris Corrie and Opie had found out she was pregnant and then had a miscarriage. It had devastated them both, but they agreed to keep trying.

Opie had gone out to get their tickets for the opera later that night. Their life here had just been total decadence. She loved that Opie wanted to completely spoil her. It was like he wanted to show her the world. She sat in the bathroom pf their huge apartment staring at the stick that said positive. she didn't know what to do. If she told him and they miscarried again she couldn't take the look on his face. she texted a picture of it to her sister with the message, "what do I do?"

Weird stuff kept happening at the house, but Dita countinued to ignore it. It was one of those nights. She smiled at her sister's texts, excited to FINALLY be on the receiving end.

TELL HIM! DUH! :-) Congrats, sis. Love you!

She inhaled deeply as she heard Opie calling her name in the foyer. Grabbing the little white stick that would mean so much for him, she made her way out. Without a word, she handed it to him.

Opie smiled quizically as he took the stick from her. Then he saw the pink "Pregnant". He looked at her and smiled, whooping in the process. He picked her up and lightly spun her around, "We're pregnant!"

She wanted to be happy, but the smile didn't touch her eyes. She was scared.
